Our History

Nestled in the heart of the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, our hotel has a rich history dating back to around 1570. Previous owners of the hotel include notable figures such as Thomas Gwillim, ADC to General Wolfe at the Battle of Quebec, and John Graves Simcoe, the first Governor General of Upper Canada and founder of the City of Toronto.
