Hello and welcome to Alastair Burn-Murdoch Photography, a husband and wife team with over 20 years of experience in capturing beautiful wedding moments. We are a reputable photography studio based in Edinburgh, but our services extend to the whole of Scotland, including Glasgow, the Borders, and the Highlands and Islands. Our studio is conveniently located just off the Edinburgh bypass near Straiton Retail Park, making it easily accessible for our clients.

Our team approach sets us apart from other photography studios. Alastair will be your primary photographer, capturing the special moments of your wedding day. Meanwhile, Rose will be there to assist you in any way she can, from helping with your dress to gathering groups together for photographs. With so much experience in taking care of the bride and groom, you can turn to Rose for anything on your big day.

Wedding Photography

Our approach to wedding photography is natural, creative, and stunning. We believe that the best wedding photographs are those that capture the emotions and excitement of the day, rather than stiff and posed shots. We work unobtrusively to capture candid moments, as well as posed portraits and group shots.

We understand that planning a wedding can be stressful, which is why we work closely with our couples to plan the photography schedule in advance. We tailor our schedule to fit in photographs of all the best scenery, while also allowing plenty of time for candid moments and group shots. Our goal is to make the photography experience easy, fun, and beautiful for our couples.

Portrait Photography

Creating gorgeous portraits that you'll love displaying in your home is our mission. We specialise in capturing each person's character and best look, whether it's a newborn baby, a newly engaged couple, a special family bond, or just a decent photo of yourself.

Our portrait photography can take place in our studio space just off the Edinburgh bypass or out on location. We know all the best beauty spots around Edinburgh along beaches, in woodlands, and up hills, or you may want a location that's significant for you.

We personally edit each photograph, using both colour and black and white. With Alastair's traditional 'darkroom' training, he has a keen eye for the best finish for each photo. So our individual preparation gives you a very high-quality set of images.

Finally, you choose how you want to enjoy your portraits: prints, framed photographs, metal or canvas artworks, or a printable disc of your photos to keep and print yourself. With prices starting from just 75 for an hour's photo shoot, it's a great chance to commission some truly memorable photos.
