Wadhurst Castle Estate

Wadhurst Castle is a 19th-century castellated mansion situated just to the west of the village of Wadhurst, Sussex. Built on the site of a much older house that was mentioned in records of the 14th Century, the Castle commands magnificent panoramic views of the gloriously beautiful Sussex countryside to the South and West.

Our venue boasts beautifully designed and meticulously maintained gardens, which are set within a tranquil and idyllic 140-acre private park estate. The historic landscapes offer a variety of licensed areas for ceremonies, providing the perfect backdrop for your special day. From the Fountain Garden to the Walled Garden, every corner of our estate is meticulously designed to ensure that your event is truly unforgettable.

Inside the castle, you will find three interconnecting areas that form the reception rooms. The grandeur of the castle's Drawing Room and the adjoining Moncrieff Room, with their high ceilings and large expansive south-facing windows, offer a warm welcoming atmosphere and beautiful light. These rooms lead to our charming Victorian Winter Garden with its exotic plants and doors opening out onto the South Lawn, offering breathtaking views of the English countryside.

Additionally, our beautifully and sympathetically restored Carriage Barn is situated in its own Well Courtyard and offers a light and spacious additional space to the castle rooms. This versatile space can be tailored to your needs and can accommodate up to 104 guests in banquet or theatre style, making it the perfect setting for a wedding breakfast, function, or corporate event.
