Located in the picturesque setting of Ongar, Essex, Blake Hall has been the home of the Capel Cure family for nearly 230 years. For over 20 years, we have been offering our beautifully restored 17th century barns and gardens as the perfect venue for your wedding, party, or special celebration.
Our Story
At Blake Hall, we take pride in providing a tranquil and peaceful setting for your special day. Our 60 acres of formal gardens and woodland are exclusively yours to use on your wedding day, making it the perfect backdrop for your photographs. Our three stunning barns are available for your exclusive use, providing ample space for your guests to enjoy your celebration.

Our experts are always on hand to offer advice and guidance, from recommending local suppliers to planning the perfect menu.
Venue
Our stunning barns and gardens offer a unique and intimate setting for your special day. Our largest barn can accommodate up to 150 guests for your ceremony and wedding breakfast, with a licence for up to 200 guests in the evening. We recommend a minimum of 50 adult guests. Our gardens offer ample opportunity for your guests to stretch their legs, with selected areas designated for photographic opportunities.
Accommodation
We understand that you may wish to reserve a room for the night of your wedding. As our accommodation is limited, we only book rooms directly with wedding guests when we have prior instruction to do so from the couple. Catering
We have a preferred catering partnership with Waters Edge Catering to ensure that your culinary needs are met. From extensive menus to bespoke options, we will work with you to create a menu that meets your tastes and preferences.
